Metamorphic rocks are formed when existing rocks are transformed into new types of rocks through a process called metamorphism. This process of transformation occurs when rocks are subjected to high temperatures and pressures, which causes significant chemical or physical changes. Like the geologic transformations of the earth, we all go through changes in our lives that can be heart breaking, painful, or enriching, and full of joy.
